RoseAnn Fino CD - Review

RoseAnn Fino is a classic country tinged singer/songwriter. Backed by Professor Louie and The Crowmatix and herself a former Hudson Valley resident (now in Queens), Roseann pours out thoughtful and upbeat melodies with autobio tales. Very similar in feel to Lucinda Williams, Fino tackles emotionally complex and powerful topics with Dar Williams approach and phrasing and Taylor Swift’s vocal sweetness. Carnival piano, crying steel and rock solid rhythms from the Crowmatix support this platter nicely without overwhelming. The disk keeps a Woodstock, NY feel in the proceedings.
