Widmann's Mansion - The Beards - Professor Louie - Miss Marie and Julien Poulson
|
About the recording
At Widmann's Mansion, people gather together and share the same story about the greatness and at the same time the tragedy of being human and it is about family in the widest sense of the word.
A family is a crossroad of people, generations, ages and different seasons of a lifetime. Finding a place to call home is an aspect of being part of a family and from this point of view, the Beards clan found it under the roof of Villa Widmann in Italy on the Riviera Brenta as a studio space.
Inside this stunning 17th Century Villa, The Beards and their sound Engineer Francesco Fabiano set up a mobile recording studio and they were joined by legendary American Producer Professor Louie, singer/multi-instrumentalist (Producer of The Band) and vocalist/percussionist Miss Marie. Together, with The Beards, they wrote many songs, learned a lot and worked really hard spending a week recording music.
Julien Poulson, singer/guitarist and "the cousin" from Tasmania, joined the musical family to give a big helping hand for
this international collaboration and the result can be heard on this record.
Brenta's Riviera
The River Brenta was a very important transport route and soon enough, many large villas were built along its high course by the Venetian aristocracy who used to cruise along the canal on the typical boat called Burchiello, where they gave parties and hosted artists from everywhere. Many years ago, the Brenta's Riviera was a crossroad for artists sharing ideas, experiences and inspiration, it was almost like a 17th century Greenwich Village. Brenta's Riviera is much more than just the long shadow of Venice heritage, it was one of the most attractive areas in the old Europe. HINC VRBIS POTVS is an inscription in Dolo written on a marble stone belonging to the old aqueduct that brought drinking water to Venice, it literally means: "Venice drink from here!" and it's the mark of how the Great Sea Republic depended on its less known, mysterious and fascinating hinterland!
